Setting up and configuring the subcontractor database after integrating SmartBid

If you integrate BidMatrix with SmartBid, your BidMatrix administrator can define a list of subcontractor attributes that you can view and use with a BidMatrix bid package.

You can also add subcontractor attributes for your SmartBid subcontractors. You can apply custom attributes you add in BidMatrix to each SmartBid subcontractor in BidMatrix. When you supply values for the custom attributes, they appear alongside the subcontractor attributes that come from SmartBid.

Defining your list of SmartBid subcontractor attributes is very similar to defining your custom project attributes. When setting up subcontractor attributes, you do not need to add fields for contacts. You can add contacts, their email addresses, and phone numbers while you are working in a bid package, or you can add them directly in the local BidMatrix database.

Before setting up a list of SmartBid contractor attributes

Turn on the integration with SmartBid.

To set up or edit the list of SmartBid subcontractor attributes:

1. Select the Libraries menu.

2. From the Libraries navigation pane, select Subcontractor Attributes.

3. To add a subcontractor attribute that can be retrieved from the subcontractor record in SmartBid, select the SmartBid icon from the list of attribute types.

   BidMatrix displays a list of attributes available in SmartBid.

4. Select a SmartBid attribute from the list.

   BidMatrix displays the SmartBid name for the selected attribute by default. You can change the name for the attribute in BidMatrix, leaving the mapping with SmartBid intact.

5. Continue selecting the SmartBid attributes you want to use in BidMatrix.
