Adding values for alternates to a bid

You can add an unlimited number of alternates to each project.

  1. Enter the project's bid room and select Work Breakdowns.

    BidMatrix displays a list of the work breakdowns that are associated with this project. Alternates are one of the default work breakdowns that appear in the list for every project that you set up.

  2. Select Alternate from the list.

  3. Select Add Alternate in the Work Breakdown Values section.

  4. Enter a Code and a Name for the new alternate.

    The code must contain only letters and numbers.

  5. Select Add.

  6. Optionally, update the Size and Unit of the alternate's value.

    Based on the quantity and unit of measure, the cost per unit is estimated for the alternate's value in the Summary Sheet overline.

  7. To select the bid packages that apply to the new alternate value, select the ellipsis icon () next to the value in the navigation pane and do the following as needed:

    • To add a new bid package, select Add Bid Package > New Bid Package, enter the Code and Name in the dialog, and then select Add.

    • To add an existing bid package, select Add Bid Package > Existing Bid Package and select one of the available bid packages.
